Junior Golf Clinics

When Introducing the game of golf Fun takes precedence over everything else in the formative years of a child.  Most kids will not find it fun to adjust and readjust their swing or contemplate a lower score. While competition and increased instruction will come later, encouragement, rewards and positive feelings will go much farther toward keeping your child engaged in the game of golf for the long term.
A progressive learning program that provides attainable goals, awards frequently while furthering development and skills, the Player Pathway provides the perfect program for kids, parents, and coaches. With an easy to follow curriculum combined with awards, players can progress from beginner to elite player!  It includes 5 Levels, each includes Putting, Around the Green, Full Swing, Knowledge, and Scoring.

Wednesday Program overview
Wednesdays: During the School year 4:30-5:30pm

Wednesdays is a 1 hour lesson program covering technical swing drills, physical and mental skills. We will continue to reinforce basic and golf fundamental movement skills and build those skills into introductory competitive experiences.
Kevin McQuinn – Community Coach and US Kids Coach will be assisting under the direction of Sue Westwood
The Introduction to Competition stage is a very significant period of development. Physiologically, this is a stage when children go through significant rapid growth periods which will affect their coordination.
We Want To:
**Keep sport and physical activity fun.
**Understand the likely challenges of growth and development that will impact this stage and design programming appropriately.
**Continue to develop all fundamental movement skills and teach general, overall sport skills.
**Emphasize flexibility training given the rapid growth of bones, tendons, ligaments and muscles.
**Understand the sport-specific technical skills required according to a golf-specific technical checklist and ensure that attention is given to establishing and reinforcing these skills at all times.
**Repetitive unstructured and imaginative play helps to develop, reinforce and master skills.
**Ensure that developing players are involved in building personal endurance and physical literacy.
