Its been a busy week even with the weather not being great. In fact it was even snowing again this morning but the golf league registrations have been very busy, the golf ladies lesson clinics have filled up really nicely and everything is ready to go for next week. Our official league registration will be taking place next week. Monday April 23rd for Men’s, Tuesday for Ladies, Wednesday for Seniors and Thursday for Juniors. This year we thought we would try to add something new to something old. Our Annual Spring into Golf event this year taking place on Sunday April 22nd 1pm till 4:30pm and Monday April 23rd 9am until 4:30pm. As per usual you will be able to golf for free if you pay for the rental of a power cart. Tee times are required so be sure to book your time soon as they typically go very fast. Well we have been open for a few days now and everyone who has been coming into see the changes to our banquet facility has been very impressed. “Its feels so open”. “It looks so much brighter” have been just a couple of the comments we have received. What a beautiful day out. We had few golfers from Barrie, Midland and Elmvale. A couple new members from Wasaga Beach (memberships are almost all gone) and another busy day setting up the clubhouse. Golfers are now starting to register for the free golf days. You can always tell when people are starting to get the itch.

It looks like we are opening tomorrow Wednesday March 21st. We’re not completely ready but the pins & tee markers are out and the greens have been cut. The proshop will open at 10am but the bar and kitchen aren’t ready yet. We will be ready to take green fees and yes Carts can go out!! I did a tour of the course today. Wow things are looking great. The greens came through perfect. Unfortunately there is still a bunch of snow back on the 6th green, 7th hole and 11th green. I’m sure it will go quick but it looks like it will push back our opening until next week. Sorry folks but we are almost there. Whether you are a golfer from Barrie, Wasaga Beach, Midland, or Penetanguishene, Orr Lake is a place you need to check out this year.
