Orr Lake Golf Club has developed a low pressure, efficient and economical way to Upsell to current customers or get NEW Customers through Referrals.
The Upsell – great for businesses who are selling to other businesses
1st – Identify a product/service that you currently off or are thinking of offering that most of your customers are currently not using.
2nd – Invite out 15-20 of your current customers who you feel will benefit from this product/service for 9 holes with a cart and lunch
3rd – Organize someone to speak about the product or service (either yourself or a supplier – Suppliers are great because most of the time they will contribute to the cost). During the lunch thank them for their support and give them the presentation on the product/service.
4th – Follow up with the customers the next week.
- Companies selling to distributors or companies for in house usage
- Companies selling to individuals i.e. selling different insurance/investment/service products
Get New Customers through Referral
Same idea as the “Up Sell” but instead of inviting 20 current customers invite 10 customers and ask them to bring a “friend” who might be interested in learning more about your product/service. This again is a great way to say thank you PLUS meet some new people and increase the size of your network. It also adds credibility to your product/service because it is being referred by someone currently using your company.
Both concepts help you build better relationships with your customers and increase sales.
